Got Osteoarthritis (?)

          About a month ago, I got all my joints hurt. I didn’t know what happened, but it just happens when I woke up from my sleep in the morning. On that morning, I woke up from my sleep as usual, but the difference is only the strange pain on my joints.

I did all my activities as usual on that day, but the pain--especially on my knee--is seriously bothering me. I didn’t say anything to my Mom, because I thought it wasn’t a serious problem. A week has passed. But the pain still won’t go. There’s nothing change since the first day. I’m started to feel afraid, so I told my Mom that my joints are hurt from about a week ago.

After that, she gave me some medicines and also ointment to decrease the pain. But, there’s nothing change after a week has passed again. During those weeks, I couldn’t walk well because of the terrible pain on my feet. I even always crying, whenever I need to go upstairs or downstairs. But I still must to do it, because my classroom is located on the second floor. I ever wanted to ask my mom to tell my teacher about this, and ask my teacher to move my classroom into the first floor. But untill now, we didn't make it.

Then we went to the Hospital to find out what’s wrong with my joints. The Doctor asked me to roentgen my feet, so, I immediately went to Radiology Specialist to roentgen my feet.

           My parents and I was so shocked to see the results. It said, I got Osteoarthritis or something that people called “pengapuran”, which mean it must be happen when a person is getting old. But…..? I’m just 15, and those Doctor said I got Osteoarthritis. Well, it may hard for me to walk. But, I still can’t believe in it, and I won’t and also can't accept the diagnosis easily. There must be something wrong!!!

I feel like the world has ended, when I hear the results.

If it is true, it means that I’ll spend the rest of my life by lying on the bed or wheelchair and I'd end everything up by not able to walk a.n.y.m.o.r.e. And if it is true, maybe it will start from the next 10years! Noooo! I’m just 15, and I still have a long future!!! :(

After spent many days to crying, I finally tried to went to the other hospital and met the other Doctor. I told him everything, about the pain, and also the previous Doctor’s diagnosis. After that, the Doctor only laughed at me. He said, that’s totally so funny. Then he explained back everything to me...

He said, the pain came from my lungs’ medicine that I consume every day. Well, yeah, I actually have a problem with my lungs. So, there are some medicines that I must consume every day. And those medicines evidently have a side effect; raise the uric acid.

Soooooo! The conclusion is….. my uric acid is raised because of my lungs’ medicines. And of course, it made all my joints hurt. I don’t have that “Osteoarthritis” on my bones. And all I have to do now is take a medicine that could decrease my uric acid.

It’s a week already after I take that medicine. And the pain has been reduced. So now, I’ll be more careful again to maintain my health, and trying to keep my body healthy :')
